Dick Twinney

Originally from Devon, wildlife artist Dick Twinney has lived and worked in Cornwall for some 40 years. His paintings, prints and giftware are available worldwide; many of the books he has illustrated are American, but he still thinks of himself as primarily a Cornish artist, and spends several hours each day walking in and observing the countryside around his home. He is author/illustrator of From Hedgerow to High Tor: The Wildlife Diary of a Country Artist, and his articles and paintings feature regularly in Westcountry newspapers and magazines.

Two of Dick’s latest paintings, Dragonfly and Burweed and Mallard Family and Damselflies – both from his Wildlife and Waterways project – are shown below. Two short films by Mike Bryant – The Art of Dick Twinney and Inspired by Cornwall – give an insight into Dick’s world.
